There are several types of 2D drawings supported by AutoCAD:

• Widen – increases the line width.

• Erase – erases an object.

• Anchor – creates a connector or point.

• Hide – hides an object.

• Line – draws a line.

• Circle – draws a circle.

• Rectangle – draws a rectangle.

• Arc – draws an arc.

• Quadratic bezier – draws a curved line or spline.

• Bezier – draws a curve by using controls on the drawing area, e.g., the ARCTRIAN button.

Autodesk’s CAD software is a 2D and 3D computer-aided design (CAD) software application that enables users to design, create, and manipulate various 3D models using a two-dimensional drafting tool. AutoCAD 1.5 was the first version of the program to support the use of NURBS surfaces, which were originally developed by Jürgen G. Fuchs of Ergon Software. RBC transfusions can lead to multiple diseases in the transfused patient, including hepatitis, AIDS, and a variety of bacterial diseases. The development of a safe and effective RBC replacement therapy will benefit patients by overcoming the problems of current treatment, including the risks of infection and the limited supply of blood. The short supply of RBC units and the risks associated with blood transfusions represent a major health care problem. Currently, the only treatment for acute anemia is blood transfusion. Current medical practice demands that blood be donated, stored for transfusion at the time it is needed. Patients require units of RBCs at a moment’s notice and the supply is relatively short. The delivery of an adequate supply of blood to patients would be greatly enhanced by the availability of a safe and efficient source of human RBCs. The focus of this proposal is to develop a stem cell based production system for human RBCs. Unlike traditional RBC production systems which rely on immortalized lines, this system will be based on stem cells. Two sources of stem cells will be investigated: human ES cells and iPS cells. Specifically, the ability to differentiate human ES and iPS cells into erythroid progenitors will be examined. Further, a stepwise differentiation system of the erythroid lineage from undifferentiated ES/iPS cells will be developed. This stepwise differentiation system will be used to determine if the production of RBCs from undifferentiated cells can be achieved. The application of this system will be expanded to include the generation of RBCs from hematopoietic stem cells. The success of this proposal will provide a new and potentially unlimited source
