GRAPHICS: Windows supports graphics hardware acceleration with AMD Radeon or nVidia graphics cards. The graphics driver also supports an experimental graphics software renderer. The GPU renderer is not supported on Mac or Linux.
If you have an AMD GPU, check that the driver is installed correctly before you install AutoCAD.
For a list of officially supported GPUs, please refer to the Supported Graphics Cards section of this page.
If you have an Nvidia GPU, please refer to Nvidia official document to install the proprietary drivers.
1.1. X and Y Axis Scaling
If your operating system has an option to scale the x- and y-axis on your screen, you can zoom into your project.
When you use the Zoom command, you can choose the scaling option to zoom in or zoom out on your drawing.
The Zoom X and Zoom Y are available only for Windows.
1.2. Copy and Paste
When you copy an existing drawing, the copy operation includes properties from the original drawing.
For example, when you copy a line, you also include the angle and options settings.
If the original line has an angle and scale, the copied line has those values.
When you paste an existing drawing, the properties in the pasted drawing take over.
1.3. New Style Commands
You can create new style commands to apply to multiple commands, without retyping the same information.
1.4. Object Viewer
If you open the Object Viewer dialog box, you can edit and set properties for any object in your drawing.
2. Paper & Page Setup
2.1. Default Paper Size
AutoCAD’s default paper size is A4.
2.2. Page Setup
Page Setup enables you to define the setup for a single page or multiple pages in your drawings.
The Paper Settings command opens

The presence of any constraint makes something to be fixed and keep to the drawing before editing. That could be a logical (such as constraints imposed by the command), a physical (if the object is put on the drawing), an object relationship (like the drawing in a drawing template).
Layouts are used to arrange objects on the drawing, laying objects out in a sequence and in a predictable way. Objects that must be positioned relative to each other in a predictable manner, and are related by an internal relationship, are defined in a layout. A layer is the base for layouts. There are two types of layers: compound and local. A layer can have up to a maximum of 1000 elements. Elements are the building blocks of a layer, or the units for specifying position.
Folders are the folders on the drawing page, and are used for the storage of files, the storage of drawings and layers, and as a repository for blocks. These blocks include:
Blocks are the most basic element of a drawing. They are used for storing information, such as grids, attributes, views, regions, linetypes, shape styles, or to represent a component or element. Objects are represented by blocks.
Modifying blocks is the most basic component of AutoCAD. Modifying blocks (changing the attributes of blocks) can be achieved through the main drawing, or by right-clicking on an existing block. Modifying blocks are limited to modifying existing objects on the screen, and can be limited to what is possible within the context of the current drawing. Modifying blocks can also be used to construct new objects and blocks, and for adding attributes to objects. There are three types of modifying blocks: attributes, properties, and views.
An attribute is a property of an object, and are used to control or define the properties of the object. Attributes can include: the object’s scale, whether it is hidden, its visibility, or whether it is placed on the screen. The attribute screen contains an attribute editor. When you edit a block’s attribute, the attribute editor will appear below the block, and the editor contains the necessary editing controls for the block. A list of attributes can also be found in the Attribute Manager.
Properties are the property values for the object. Properties can include the object’s dimensions, or what other objects are
Open Autodesk Autocad, if it isn’t already open.
Click the “Registration Key” icon on the bottom toolbar.
Click “Regenerate Registration Key”.
Save this new key to your computer.
Click “OK” to open Autodesk Autocad.
Select “Start” from the main menu and select “Activate”.
Enter your new registration key and press “OK”.
To save time, the registration key will be immediately valid, without an application restart.
Note: The activation key and registration key are separate. The registration key is associated with your Autodesk product, and is unique. The activation key is unique to your computer, and is used to activate Autodesk products. If you reinstall Autodesk products on your computer, you need to re-register using your new registration key.
The registration key is printed on the bottom of each license. Registering the key ensures that you are the only person who has the product.
